Bio-CNG production from Napier Grass is becoming a strong and practical solution for renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, waste management, and rural income generation. With its rapid growth and high biomass production, Napier grass is considered one of the most efficient energy crops for producing compressed biogas. This makes it an excellent feedstock for Bio-CNG plants that connect farming with clean energy production.
At Unnati 9 Group, agriculture consulting plays a central role in promoting such innovative agri-energy models. Through professional agriculture consulting services, the organization supports farmers, investors, and rural entrepreneurs in developing Napier grass–based Bio-CNG projects that are technically viable and economically sustainable. Proper crop planning, biomass supply management, and plant feasibility assessment are key areas where agriculture consultants help build successful projects.
According to agriculture consultant Dr. Sabha Bahadur Singh, integrating renewable energy production with agriculture can significantly strengthen rural economies. His agriculture consulting approach focuses on developing farmer-centric models where Napier grass cultivation supports both energy production and farmer income. With the right guidance from experienced agriculture consultants, Bio-CNG plants can become an important part of sustainable agri-business development in India.
Through its agriculture consulting initiatives, Unnati 9 Group is actively working to promote Napier grass cultivation, Bio-CNG plant planning, and integrated agri-energy systems that benefit farmers, industries, and the environment. This agriculture consulting model helps transform traditional farming into a modern, energy-producing agricultural ecosystem. 🌱⚡
A Bio-CNG plant converts organic biomass such as Napier grass into biogas through anaerobic digestion, which is then purified and compressed to produce Bio-CNG (Compressed Bio Gas).

Napier grass can produce 250–350 tons biomass per hectare per year, making it ideal for continuous gas production.
Napier grass is cultivated on agricultural land as a high-biomass energy crop. It grows quickly and can be harvested every 45–60 days, ensuring a continuous supply of raw material for the Bio-CNG plant.
After harvesting, the Napier grass is chopped into small pieces using a chaff cutter or biomass shredder. The prepared biomass is then fed into the anaerobic digester for gas production.
Inside the digester, microorganisms break down the organic biomass in the absence of oxygen. This biological process produces biogas, which mainly contains methane (CH₄) and carbon dioxide (CO₂).
The raw biogas goes through a purification system where impurities such as CO₂, hydrogen sulfide (H₂S), and moisture are removed. This step upgrades the gas quality for fuel use.
The purified biogas is compressed at high pressure to produce Bio-CNG (Compressed Bio Gas). The gas is then stored in cylinders or cascades for use as a clean renewable fuel.
The remaining slurry from the digester becomes nutrient-rich bio-organic fertilizer. This natural fertilizer improves soil fertility and supports sustainable farming practices. ♻️🌾
